What a Busy Day!

It was a busy day in the Lighthouse!  It was great to see so many of our friends today.  Classes were bustling, and there was a lot of interesting things going on.
Babies and toddlers enjoyed playing together in the nursery.
Discovery Class heard the story "Muddy Children" about how all people are loved, and then enjoyed their free choice time.

Treasure Hunters heard a story about Mary, the mother of Jesus.
The children drew pictures about the story.

Explorers worked on creating a model of Solomon's Temple.
The Middle School youth discussed the parable of the Lost Sheep, and then went outside to play active games and enjoy the beautiful weather.  First they paused for this silly group photo.

Lighthouse Chapel

The first Sunday of each month, children and youth gather for worship, either in the sanctuary with the adults, or for our Lighthouse Chapel for children and youth.

Children and youth meet with one of four leadership team.  The Loving Hearts team does something to care for others in our church . . . .

The Helping Hands team works on projects that help to make the world a better place . . .

And the Open Minds team helps to present pieces of our worship services.

Children and youth serve as worship assistants . . .

make announcements . . .

take the collection . . .

and even serve as projectionist.

We share joys and concerns

sing songs . . .

and explore big ideas.

Today we talked about what it means to be a Unitarian Universalist, and what the words "Open Minds," "Loving Hearts", and "Helping Hands" mean, and how they connect with our seven Unitarian Universalist principles.
